Since meeting in Vienna in 1996 Russell Haswell and Florian Hecker have performed together internationally and remixed pioneering artists such as as Voice Crack and Popol Vuh. Having both received Awards in their own right at the Prix Ars Electronica for Digital Music—Haswell with ‘Live Salvage 1997–2000’ and Hecker, ‘Sun Pandämonium’—in 2007 they released Blackest Ever Black: (Electroacoustic UPIC Recordings), their first full-length collaborative work together.
