Formerly a skipper and trainer of sailing instructors at Les Glénans, Gilles Grelet has lived aboard his boat since 2010. He has a PhD from the University of Paris Nanterre, and has taught at University of Paris 8, the Collège international de philosophie, and Lorient Football Club, as well as organising a philosophy class for prisoners and working as a port agent. He is the author of Déclarer la gnose. D’une guerre qui revient à la culture (Paris: L’Harmattan, 2002), Le théorisme, méthode de salut public (Montreuil: Éditions Matière, 2006), and Citations pour le président Sarkozy (with Juan Pérez Agirregoikoa; Montreuil: Éditions Matière, 2009), and editor of the collection Théorie-rébellion.
