That passage is from Baudrillard’s essay on Apocalypse Now, which I was reminded of by the images that John based this work on: looking at that image of the helicopter going into the camouflage smoke, one cannot but be reminded of Apocalypse Now, really. A lot of what I’m going to say today will be about the relevance of Baudrillard’s theories of simulation today…
